McKayla Rose Maroney retired from artistic gymnastics and became a singer. She was a member of her country's American woman's team in gymnastics called The Fierce Five. In the Summer Olympics 2012, she took home a gold in the team event and a silver medal in vaulting for an individual. Her early years. Lauren Drain is a former church member from the Westboro Baptist Church who wrote the 2013 book Banished that chronicles her life and experiences, leading to her eventual exile out of church.
